Friday Night Wine (on Saturday)

We were spending some time away this past week in Charleston and Myrtle Beach so I didn't have a chance to post last week.

While in Charleston we had a 2000 Jade Mountain Merlot from Napa Valley. Black Cherry and vanilla notes with great body and a beautiful finish. This wine was excellent. Unfortunately it was my only bottle and had been sitting in my cellar for a few years. Retail at the time was $35.

This week we pulled out a 2006 Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio from Alto Adige/Valdadige region of Italy. Dry, fruity and complex with a very nice finish. Very tasty wine. Retail was $18.
